Since knowledge sharing is a core value for IRIS Mundial, much effort is invested in providing continuing education to local vision professionals. Thanks to the expertise of the organization’s volunteers, numerous training missions are carried out with the objective of improving the quality of the eye care offered, in terms of eyewear, visual screening techniques, ophthalmological examinations or new surgical techniques. These missions are organized to provide the staff of IRIS Mundial’s permanent programs and other vision partners in developing countries the tools they need to carry out their work in a perspective of empowerment.<\/p>\n
