Internship in Senehal- What is it about ?<\/span><\/h5>\n

In 2022, IRIS Mundial organized its first credited internship for optometrists who are pursuing postgraduate studies as residents in community optometry at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al<\/em> School of Optometry. These internships take place in St. Louis, Senegal, in collaboration with the Association Saint-Lousienne pour la Vue<\/em> (ASV).<\/p>\n

IRIS Mundial works closely with Dr Benoit Tousignant, optometrist and assistant professor at the UdeM School of Optometry, who acts as the internship supervisor. Students are sent in groups of 5 and are supervised by an IRIS Mundial optometrist volunteer.<\/p>\n

INTERNSHIP IN Haiti- What is it about?<\/h5>\n

Since 2017, IRIS Mundial has been organizing credited internships for the 4th<\/sup> year students of the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al<\/em> School of Optometry. These internships take place in Limb\u00e9, Haiti, in collaboration with the Centre d\u2019\u00c9ducation et de D\u00e9veloppement int\u00e9gr\u00e9 \u2013 Village de l\u2019Espoir<\/em> (CEDI-VE).<\/p>\n

Current situation in Haiti<\/h5>\n

Due to all the socio-political instability plaguing the country since February 2019 and for the safety of its volunteers, IRIS Mundial unfortunately had to cancel its three internships planned in 2019 (February, September and November). The students had been selected, pre-departure, with training provided and plane tickets for the February internship, purchased.<\/p>\n

The management of IRIS Mundial will restore activities in the country at the appropriate time both in terms of the socio-political situation and in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
