Preparing used pairs of glasses takes a lot of time. Consider that, in order to organize a one-time project to examine around 2000 patients, IRIS Mundial needs to bring a bank of around 6000 pairs of glasses to ensure that we have the largest possible inventory. As a result, the preparation of the bank requires several long-term steps: washing, sorting, analyzing, categorizing, etc.<\/p>\n

For optometrists and opticians<\/u><\/strong>: analysis and classification of glasses<\/p>\n

For other participants<\/u><\/strong>: sorting, cleaning and repairing glasses<\/p>\n

IRIS Mundial has a warehouse in Saint-J\u00e9r\u00f4me where workshops are organized several times a year with volunteers. Usually there are one to two workshops per month, with the exception of the months leading up to a mission, when the number of workshops intensifies. If you would like to take part in these workshops and would like to know the next dates, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you work in an optometry clinic, you may be able to offer patients the opportunity to give a second life to their old pairs by collecting them. Thanks to the used glasses that the patients will bring to you in store, you will be able to help us at this level. Another option would be to contact the Lions Club in your area to provide you with used pairs of glasses, as their members collect them most of the time. If necessary, we can send you a document with the steps to take to prepare the glasses before sending them to our warehouse.
