The Jean-Pierre Tchang Award was created in 2009 to highlight, annually, the exceptional contribution of one of our volunteers to the IRIS Mundial mission. The 2019 award was presented to Dr. Marie-Chantal Hudon during a strategic-planning gathering that took place in Wentworth-Nord, Quebec. Numerous volunteers and friends of Marie-Chantal paid tribute to her with a short video.
Marie-Chantal is a dynamic, joyful, energetic, skilled, inspiring person who is so committed to IRIS Mundial’s mission. Since 2014, she has participated in seven IRIS Mundial missions, four of which were training missions in Haiti and Senegal. Marie-Chantal is always available to help at different levels of the organization in the implementation of its activities. She is a member of the board of directors of IRIS Mundial. She organizes the workshops on glasses at the St-Jérôme warehouse; she is in charge of managing IRIS Mundial’s equipment (stock management at the warehouse, helps purchase new optometric equipment, etc.). Thanks to her hard work, she is always able to find donated or very inexpensive optometry equipment to send to our partners in Haiti or Senegal. She is always ready to help the most disadvantaged and to pass on her knowledge!
Congratulations Marie-Chantal and thanks for being with us!
