In 2025, IRIS Mundial continued doing what has guided its mission for 25 years: bringing vision care closer to the people who need it most.
This year, our commitment took us to the edge of the Senegalese desert, in the Podor region. Through a mobile clinic deployed across several remote communities, our team of volunteers and local partners provided screening services, eye exams, and eyeglasses to populations with very limited access to eye care. Behind each consultation lies a story — someone regaining the ability to read, to work, or simply to see the world more clearly.
At the same time, our blindness prevention programs (PPLC) continued to grow. In Senegal, the Saint-Louis program kept offering screening, eye exams, and access to surgery. In Haiti, despite an ongoing difficult sociopolitical context, our partners in Limbé and Terrier-Rouge maintained their activities with determination to ensure eye care access for their communities.
2025 also marked the launch of the Aksé Ayiti project, developed in collaboration with Health Partners International Canada (HPIC). This initiative aims to strengthen patient-centred pharmaceutical services and improve equitable access to essential medications for the populations served by our Haitian partners.
Finally, the groundwork for new collaborations continues to take shape, including in Gabon, opening the door to future initiatives.
Behind each of these achievements are committed individuals — volunteers, health professionals, local partners, donors, and collaborators who make IRIS Mundial’s work possible. Their dedication and trust allow our organization to keep making a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of people.
As you read through this annual report, you will discover the many actions carried out over the course of 2025. Together, we continue working toward a simple but essential goal: contributing to a world where everyone has access to the fundamental right to see well.
