On November 20, a festive evening took place to celebrate the 20th anniversary of IRIS Mundial. More than seventy former and recent volunteers and partners came together to celebrate the work of the organization over the past two decades, and its plans for a promising future!
The evening was dedicated to the late volunteer Dr. Jean-Pierre Paradis, optometrist who left his mark on IRIS Mundial history through his tremendous contribution. Two volunteers also paid tribute to the founder of the organization, who has inspired so many volunteers to get involved in this noble cause over the years. In addition, the annual Jean-Pierre Tchang prize, created to highlight the exceptional contribution of a volunteer to IRIS Mundial’s mission, was awarded to Mrs. Marie-Claude Cossette for 2020 and Mrs. Élaine Giasson for 2021! Congratulations and thank you for your involvement for so many years!
One of the highlights of the evening was the inauguration of our new brand identity, symbolizing a new step for the next 20 years. Many reunions, a few activities, souvenir photos, the presentation of 3 new IRIS Mundial videos, fun and laughs were also on the agenda!
Thank you to all IRIS Mundial volunteers, friends and partners for helping to keep the organization alive throughout the years, and for allowing thousands of people to better see the world!
