February was a month of generosity and commitment for IRIS Mundial and IRIS stores across Canada. For the 17th consecutive year, IRIS stores opened their doors and hearts to support the organization’s noble mission of providing eye care to those who need it most.
Thanks to the remarkable initiative of the IRIS stores, which decided to donate $10 for every pair of glasses sold throughout February, a total of $94,880 was raised. These funds will play a crucial role in financing IRIS Mundial’s activities, which significantly impact the lives of thousands of people in need, both in Canada and developing countries.
Since its creation in 2001, IRIS Mundial has changed the lives of over 108,000 people by providing access to quality eye care. Through its Prevention and Fight against Blindness Programs (PPLC) in Haiti and Senegal, the organization has provided preventive and curative optometry, optical and ophthalmology services to populations in desperate need.
IRIS Mundial’s commitment goes beyond borders, as demonstrated by its recent mission in Gabon, where 24 volunteers provided eye care to some 2,000 underprivileged people. These concrete actions demonstrate the direct impact that financial and logistical support for solidarity initiatives such as IRIS Mundial can have.
The funds raised through IRIS Mundial 2024 will enable the organization to continue promoting eye health worldwide. Whether for the construction of community eye clinics, the purchase of cutting-edge medical equipment or the ongoing training of local staff, every dollar counts and makes a real difference.
On behalf of IRIS Mundial, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all those who helped make this February a resounding success. Your continued generosity and support are essential to enable IRIS Mundial to continue its vital mission and bring light where it is most needed.
Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
